Hi, many time ago I succeeded in my efforts to Update my old and noisy Roland Sp-808 by installing to it an old laptop hard drive and the OS from the Roland A6 VideoCanvas.

i tried two cf readers and they didnt work either in 808 os 808ex os or A6 os, but at last i have my 808(A6 os updated) running with a 2,5" 80gb 5400rpm Samsung hard disk!!!

you have to do it via midi, using smf player from roland.co.uk, its a very easy process, it lasts like 8 minutes...

Hi! I've been testing around with the 808 1.0, and I could format the disk with the Sp, but it was the moment of sampling it get stuck. It began samplping(or it says so) but then you cannot stop tha thing!

Ive tested ntfs,fat,fat32, anyway it must format, and i tried master,slave and all the ...
