what the hell was roland smoking when they left this fucked up flaw in the design?

So any one out there know a way to disable the horrid orange blinking of the pads while in pattern mode? The pads don't even blink in time with the
sequence.The way they blink out of time with the Blue BPM indicator light
is totally distracting and makes that very cool and useful feature un usable ...
