Ah, I see what you mean now. I was just thinking of the Loop pedal because it would be small and you could operate it with your foot (I think) while using your hands elsewhere.

I'm not really familiar with a the little digital recorders out there, so I'm sure you're right, some of them would work ...

Hey just an idea. I've seen those Boss guitar "Loop" pedals. Basically they can sample a sound and loop it back if I understand correctly. This seems like it'd be cool to pair with a 404 cause you could record patterns into the Loop pedal, then re-record the loop pedals output back into the 404 ...

An idea is that if it isn't a real stereo effect, then it may be mixing to mono even if you resample to a new stereo sample. Mixing to mono will boost any sound that's the same level on left & right channels by 6 decibels - more than enough to clip. On top of that, you could lose some of the sound ...

Maybe it stands for "SUBSTITUTION"? I don't know for sure but that's basically what you can use it for. Substitute in one pattern for another instantly, instead of waiting for the pattern to end?

I can take a sample of a loop or kick drum, for example, and use isolator or EQ, etc. to get some really slammin BASS (as in the bass part of a loop or even ...

Hey look on the bottom of your MDP16. On mind I remembered theres little diagrams to tell you how to do certain things (without the software editor). I can't remember what it says though right now.

i have that same prob on the 404 - its not insane but its annoying, usually i resample with the effect (pad off gate and loop) then hit reverse and trim till you just hear the tail of the sample, unlit reverse for few point tuning if needed and it should be ok... but if anyone knows a quicker way ...
