Re: Secret break chopping tech

@ a.D.

Thanks for this nice little trick! It works great and reminds me of the effect that Recycle has with the stretch parameter.

I used the Decay on the MPC 2000 to get rid of the "whoooosh" but I still have to try it on the 404...

Re: film short

Dope video! I really like the tape loop part and the whole b&w contrast.

What camera did you use?

Re: sp 1200

Even better! Then just try Ebay...I got there more than 100 HD disks for the MPC for roughly 10 EUR including delivery charges.

Re: sp 1200

Yeah, I know that trick. Nice!

What I meant with the HD and DD floppy disks is this (taken from the SP 1200 FAQ - m):

"Take any regular 1.44mb High-Density Disk and face it towards your SP, take a piece of electrical tape or any tape and cover the left side. And the 1200 will be Stevie Wonder to ...

Re: sp 1200

i got both machines (MPC2000 classic and SP1200) and i love both.
i agree with the fact that the mpc sequencer is a more powerful tool.

another problem: floppy disks are not easy to find here in my town.

The classic MPC 2000 is definitely dope but chopping a drum break takes years compared to ...

Re: sp 1200

Trust me, you won´t regret it.

I have a SP-12 since 4 weeks now and I love it. The sound is dope and although I´m even more limited with only 5 seconds of sample time I´m just amazed how easy it is to use this machine....especially the Step Editor.

My MPC 2000 is collecting dust right now...

Thanks for this! It works quite well with kicks and snares.

Longer samples get fucked up as usual though.

Re: changing the pitch/tuning samples?

I can recommend the Shareware "AudioRetoucher". You can Play and Pitch MP3s with it and sample directly into your 404.

The Problem with DAWs is: If I start Ableton Live, i end up using it...and then there is no need for me to use the 404 anymore.

So, If I want to use the 404 the computer has to ...

Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.

It was a 2nd gen touch that I bought. I would not buy anything lower than a 2nd gen. I just bought mine cuz it was cheap and my iphone broke and I didn't feel like waiting 2 months for the new itouch to come out. If possible try to get the 32gb 3rd gen that comes with more ram, faster cpu and ...

Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.

Thanks homie, this really helped me a lot! Great tip with the cables!

Which ipod Generation did you get for 100$ and which generation would you recommend for nanostudio? It seems like the 1G Pods don´t support mic recording...!?!

Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.

Damn, Nanostudio looks dope as hell!

Ok, and here are my stupid questions (because I don´t want to waste 200 EUR on an IPod Touch):

Is the Ipod screen big enough for a comfortable workflow or do you constantly miss the buttons, pads and keys? (Just asking - I got no idea).

And is it also possible ...

Re: Record to Videotape

^ i have a minidisc, the last model they made, the RH1... if you're on a pc, it can import audio to wav straight from the disc without rerecording. Shamefully there is no software for mac that does the same, or at least not for the latest OS X...

but the RH1 is a great recorder as well, with a ...

Re: Record to Videotape

I have the zoom h2... 75 bones on ebay, and seriously, the shit that thing can record, at dope quality, amazes the hell out of me on a regular basis... and with no external mics.

The newer models must be insane if they're even better.

The Zoom H2 looks dope! I still record on a portable ...
