If I had to choose between the 2, I would get the micron without a doubt. I personally think the microkorg sucks. I've played it a few times and I think it sounds only so-so, modulation and editing seems very limited and they keys are horrible. The micron has more capabilities, better features ...

I'll throw another vote for the Sennheiser hd280 pros. They're worth it, I was really against paying 90-100 bucks for headphones but im glad I did.

This was rad! Makes me feel bad for not churning out more stuff on my 606. Simplicity brings greatness.

I agree with the above about the mopho, as I preached about it in another thread somewhere else. It's pretty much a modular synth in a lil' yellow box. Not hard to use and very rewarding. Save up and get good stuff, it'll be worth it, that way you can concentrate on making better music than wishing ...

Yeah it sucks. If it were true as we wish, they would be more popular than the mpc prob for the price. And I checked your myspace, good stuff.

Alright, last post i'll say about the Mopho. The past few days, esp since this thread has started i've been using my mopho with my 606 only, not even a midi keyboard. I've been using the sequencer to do 16 step basslines, sample it, loop it, add effects, use my 606 for playing live drums/sequenced ...

I think you're talking about the same thing. If you have a sequence already on the sampler ( a sequence of samples) and it's playing those pads ( sequence ) when you play it back, it will send out the notes of those pads to the synth via midi. We're saying that you can't have like a dedicated midi ...

Yes, when I bought my synth I was hoping I could record a sequence of midi ( a midi track like an mpc) in the 606 and have it send it out via midi to my synth to play. NO GO.

well, 300 for an all analog mono ( brand new!) is a steal in the synth world. And unless you want to go the route of buying a very used roland juno 60 ( no midi) or 106 (midi) for more than that usually for a decent working example then you're pretty much out of luck. What I mean is, say you have a synth, and you want to record a midi sequence from a keyboard ( like you would an mpc). You can't do that with the 606. I cant record midi sequences for other midi gear, the sequencer is for the internal sounds only.

DONT THINK THE 606 CAN SEQ EXT GEAR VIA MIDI, IT DOES NOT!!! I was soooo dissapointed when I learned this, but I still love my 606. Remember, IT'S NOT AN MPC.

yeah it has 4 assignable knobs ( the mopho) that you can assign to any parameter you want. I design sounds on the pc editor and make the knobs what i want to use live. Its easier than it looks/sounds.

First off the 101 and the 201 are vastly different, the 101 is monophonic and analog, the 201 is polyphonic and virtual analog. I won't get into the analong/va/digital/fm debate. But I would personally prefer the 101, it sounds amazing, but good luck finding one cheap. And whats the problem with ...
