thanks for all the replies gentlemen... maybe i will have to suck it up and invest in a dedicated laptop to hold my samples. hardware samplers are more geared towards making beats anyway.... still love my 404 tho!
that "beatthang" would actually be pretty cool if it was a full blown sampler ...

using resample instead of the sequencer

im trying to make a beat in a timing that the sequencer cant do. do you guys recommend any tricks to use while resampling a beat and other patterns, to essentially not have to use the sequencer or recording to another machine?.... thanks.

i really wanted the 555 for loop capture just so that i could assign a redubbed pattern as a sample(since you cant trigger patterns with a midi controller) but saw that it was a little limited. i think that for my money my best bet is to get the 606 and use the 404 as a way to re-record patterns. i ...

555 or 606? tough question

i saw some 606s on ebay for like $350 and im thinking of just breaking down and getting one instead of the 555. i love the 404 i have right now but it seems that the 606 is a little bit less geared towards live djing, and more on the production side, which i like. im looking to sample phrases of ...

555 loop capture capable of odd timing??

hey guys. i have a 404 and am considering saving for the 555. i love the 404 very much but loop capture would make things move so much easier... i read the manual and noticed the loop capture misses 0.03 sec of sample time??? this might be a stupid question but, is that amount of time truly ...
