cheers for the help guys,
i've found that a couple of the files WERE in the wrong format - despite saving them as the correct format they weren't at 44.1khz. dunno why but at least i've found the problem, all the other ones work just dandy

Interesting. Yeah there's definitely space - only importing small samples and I have a 1GB card. Importing to card banks, unused banks as well so I don't expect any pads to be protected.

Stupid question (I'm a guitarist you see, and new to this side of things):
I've just bought an SP-404. Now, I plan to use this live. So, what kind of stands do you use? Are stands for this kind of thing commercially available or do I go look for some kind of portable table kind of thing ...

Yup, done that. Made double sure and re-saved all my samples (well, the ones I wanted to export anyway) at 44.1/16 bit using sound forge. For some reason they don't want to work in bulk but one at a time works fine

I would make the pattern go for X bars of 4/4 until it syncs up. This is a bit of a pain in the arse for me too, as I seem to write everything in 3's or 6's instead of nice 4's.

I've had some import problems myself with my new 404. I've made sure all my wav's are in the right format, however when I have the 15 or so I want to import on the card I get a USP error I think it was (unsupported format). If I do it one at a time however, it works like a charm. Any ideas why this ...
