the guy from animal collective uses two sp-303s

just bought myself a cardreader but i can't use any of the files once i get them on the computer. none of the .spd files can be read. i downloaded and installed SealedMedia or whatever it's called but still nothing works.
can anyone help me out?

i'm new to the world of the 404, too, but i'm pretty sure your only option is to re-record the samples while making sure you set up the bpm for each one ahead of time.

i might be wrong... would be pretty cool if i am.

still having trouble with mic volume. even when i have the level controlled by ctrl knob 3 maxed out and the mic level knob maxed out, i still have to turn the sp404's volume all the way up and bring the volume for any samples i'm playing at the time way down in order to hear my ...

would it be too much to ask how i add effects to vocals but no sample pads? nothing i try is working. and i can't find anything on it in the manual.

hello again. still getting used to my new 404, got some questions:

first of all, is it normal for the volume to be considerably low when i plug in my shure sm58 microphone into the mic jack and crank the mic level as high as it can go?

and also is it possible to add effects to vocals in real ...

Isn't that what you wanted?, I thought you were trying to get them to start at different intervals, it seems like having three drumloops play over each other would create problems like them not staying synced properly, I guess I don't understand what you are trying to do.

it did in this situation. only thing it didn't solve is - being that this is three layers of drums, syncopated - when i first hit the pattern pad, it starts off playing just one, then the second comes in, and then finally the third and from then on they all continue. so i'll just have to do a fade ...

press the pad that you have our sample on.. i guess the "loop" button will flash.. pres the loop button once to turn off looping.

every 4. bar your pattern will trigger your sample but if it is set to looping the second trigger will turn it of, u see?

i have three different drumbeats of four measures each that are to be sequenced together, each starting at a different interval. when i set my 404 up for 4 measures at the appropriate bpm and everything's good to go... i start the sequencing ...
