Question about changing patterns in the SP606 sequencer

The manual isn't very descriptive about this.

How are patterns saved? Is there just a long list of them?

More importantly, if I have a pattern playing and I want to switch to another one smoothly, what do I do? Preferably to have the pattern start as soon as the currently playing one finishes. Is ...

Yeah, everyone's style is different. I don't sample much at all using the SP, I just use it to manipulate beats and stuff live. The SP is more of just a foundation for my live setup than an all-in-one music maker for me.

Whoops, derail. Definitely post about whether the update is worth it ...

I know this is an old post, but just in case anyone ever comes looking for this info, I'll answer.

You just drag the files from the folder in your comp right onto the card. Don't put them in the folder on the card. If the files have names longer than 8 characters (I think it's then they will be ...

Thanks whyseOne. I watched those vids earlier and they were indeed extremely helpful. I know it's possible to upload a beat from the card, but I can't get many onto the sampler at once because of the limited internal memory.

Samples on the memory card

So, can I use samples that are saved on the memory card, or do I need to load them into the internal memory to use them? The manual implies that the sampler can sample as much time as fits on the card, so I would think that samples on the card can be directly accessed.
