How do you folks go around collecting samples/jamming with others using your sample library? For that matter, d'ya use just sample libraries that you drag and drop at random?

Hey,
Are there any tricks to getting the sampling time right on the 404? Like, delay when initially hitting record, delay when hitting it to stop the sampling process?
I'm trying to sample the "drum beat" from my casiotone vl1 and I'm having some difficulty.
