Pattern Editing Help Please

Folks,

Trying to find my way around the device.

Is there a way to edit a pattern once it's been written to a pad? Specifically, overdub or delete pads?

Could not find this in the manual. Seems like it's obvious and should be there.... but then again....

Thanks,

Moosh

OK now for some advice then

OK, I just did a track on the MPC/Ableton and I chopped it up and put it into the 555. So far so good.

Question - after I copy one pattern to another pad, can I now overdub more stuff on this copied pattern? If so, how?

Thanks,

Moosh

Why is the 555 cool?

Folks,

Figured it out

I called Roland and found out I needed a card reader, and that the 555 can't connect to the PC and show it's CF card as a drive.... Lame. But oh well...

sort of but not quite?

i sort of got what you were saying.

I was able to format the compact flash card. it happened very quickly. i was able to write a loop to it also... but again, my computer cannot see it. is it supposed to see it as a separate drive? or just through the wave converter?

Computer and CF cards

Question - if a card is not compatible, does it mean that the computer won't see it? i picked up a "recognized" card from Sweetwater, and the computer doesn't see the card at all -- have reinstalled the driver, etc.

I guess my question is if a card is not compatible, how do you know? and would ...

555 vs. MPC

Years back I had an MPC 3000 and loved it (it was stolen from me), and since I've been moving towards software sequencing. Since I use computers all day for work, and also all night for music, I've been starting to get carpal tunnel -- which promted the desire to get a drum machine / sequencer ...
