Probably discussed before, but maybe someone have new answers!?
I have recorded in WAV-format (44.1 kHz, 16-bit stereo, 1411 kbps) and I want to convert to MP3 (128 kbps, 441 kHz) or better… I’m not pleased with the encoding!?
I’ve tried “WAV to MP3 Encoder” from mthreedev.com and “Switch Sound File Converter” from nch.com.

Is it possible that different computers give different results?
And what freeware do YOU suggest/recommend?

Help?

Problem file “attached” (128 kbps, 441 kHz). Listen to the high-hat!
All SP-404.

I would suggest not encoding at 128kbps. I can always hear the "sizzle" on 128. Try to do it at either 190 or 256. Download Audacity it's a good freeware that will give you all the options you need.

dont do 128 all the information gets squashed and the pc pretty much adds its own sounds in to fill the spaces. its really disgusting sometimes in the highs. u can also make an account at bandcamp and upload your files as wav, then dl as mp3's. they do a good job w/conversions

Hmm Bandcamp, more login and passwords… but using the cloud is smart! I’ll try that.

I use Audacity but haven’t used it as a wav to mp3 converter.
Now when I have located lame_enc.dll I will try. And compare the result from two computers.

Thanks!

This one also can help you do this conversion. http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/ti ... o-mp3.html
It provides a smart setting to the output format. But I think it's fine with me to just convert WAV to smaller MP3 file. Beacuse I always want to send the recording audio to my bro.
