Hey there guys

I own a 404 since july 2006 :)

2 quick questions.

1.I saw a video in utube and a guy just used the 303 pitch and the sample slowed down while pitched down... Seemed amazing. Is this really the case or i was fooled?

2.Is it true that 303 can sample while another sample is playing? and that you can resample with external source at the same time?

oh my god, if these two things are true, i think i will hang myself :)

1. The pitching functions are the same as the 404. The best way to pitch down on the 404 is to use the DJFX Looper #24. I'm not sure if the 303 is the same.

2. Yes you can have an external source playing while resampling on the 303. This is different than the 404.

Remember that while the 303 has a better sound, it has less pads, less banks, old memory cards and the machine itself is slower at performing functions. Most importantly you lose battery power on the 303. Just some things to think about.

that resampling thing is super cool :) damn!

regarding the pitch, can someone of the sp303 owners explain to me what happens here at the following vid at the 1.00 mark?

He's just using the pitch FX on the front face. Sometimes the pitch FX works okay for samples, but other times the results are horrible sounding. This is the same pitch FX as on the 404 tho. I believe the only SP that can pitch a sample the real way (slow it down/speed it up) is the SP202. The SP505 also has a pitch/scale function, but it's done by algorithms instead of just slowing it down. This means that at a certain point you will hear artifacts in the sample from stretching it too much.

Yeah, thats Nick da 1da. He's a member on here so you can pm him.

Thats just the pitch effect slowing the sonic portion of the sample but not the speed, so yeah you got fooled

I got nothing more to say than what formal already mentioned, but the 303 does not run on batteries at all, its powered by nuclear photosynthesis.

Growing up around turntables since I was 6, so I'm a huge fan of pitch tuning, don't know why they call the 303 a dj's companion if it got pseudo pitch. :? But its a cool machine no doubt, I use it with my MS-1 and its the dopest combo to flip vinyl in the nastiest ways.
