Lexar 2gb premium series 80x = crapper

(might just be a bad card though) as with anything.

Sandisk extreme 3 is pretty decent though, not a single problem so far.. says its 133X.

Dane-Elec 1Gb Compact Flash card works too, it's not a special kind of sub-brand thing, but I can't give more specifics as that's all it reads on the back. This card works both in the SP-606 and SP-555 for sure.

I also had a 512MB Compact Flash card of Sandisk Ultra II in my SP-555 and SP-606 and that works fine too.

Also, I heard people have problems with a SanDisk Ultra III 1Gb (or perhaps it was 2Gb), that card didn't get recognized at all.

Wierd, the ultra 3 is doing an amazing job for me, (when I bought it I told them my situation and they said bring it back if it didnt work) not a single problem so far.

Maybe, there are just bad versions of every card, this whole thign is VERY random.

When it comes to the Ultra III sub-brand your experience with Ultra IIIs is probably way more credible than the story I heard. I haven't actually used those particular cards myself, I only heard some people had problems with them.

Perhaps it matters what size of compact flash card you're using or something, but I don't know.

My friend who is photographer gave me some CF cards as they have too small capacity for serious work... so I tested them all in SP -555.
All cards beside LEXAR works okay.
I attached a picture for easyer identification.

What up everyone ? I got a question- I got a Kodak card, 512mb, and when I try to load something on the 606, it keeps giving me an error messaged of "unsupported", can someone tell me what is wrong and/or what am i doing wrong...this is what i have done so far...
1. I took out all the files form their folders, and just moved them to the "roland" folder-no luck.
2. I deleted everything that wasn't wav. or aif-no luck.
can someone give me some insight on what to do/steps/tips please?

@Markypoo: 404 only accepts 1 Gb

By the way: here in Austria Sandisk Ultra II 1+2 G disappeared from all shops, like all (!) other CF 1 G- cards do!!!...( this means CF cards for 404 seem to becom "antique" here.) Is this an industrial joke or wat?

a data doesn't work. i would recommend paying for pricier cf cards because you're getting quality and assurance.
