How big is your modular? How many patch cables did it take to feed that into the SP? Was thinking of investing money into Modular synths.

I sampled one sound at a time. With that technique you dont need a big modular. But if you want to do the same with only a modular you need about 192hp. Depends on which modules you buy. Analog/digital/external sequencing etc... Thanks for listening.

I want to get around to a few purchases if I go modular.

1. 6u Arturia RackBrute. (Should be a bit of space)
2. Arturia MicroBrute2 synth/sequencer. (Takes care of patching from either unit when connected to the RackBrute.
3. Behringer Nuetron
4. Behringer Model D
5. Make Noise N0 Coast (Not in the rack itself of course, but can probably do some crazy sounds with everything I just mentioned).

After those 5 are out of my way, not sure what room is left over. But probably some filters, FX, or something that can coax something from these 5. I know this would take me awhile, so I’d be in no hurry. (Next year at least)

Mostly semi modular as I understand. Looks great. What do you want to do with your synth?
My synth is much the opposite of yours to be. I’m in a downsizing process. I want a relatively small experimental one. My little annoying experimental synth will look like this

Black blanks are – nothing… The two top rows are one case. The third row with a mixer is another small mini Doepfer case.. The two blanks at the top row will be replaced with modules from Nonlinearcircuits. On row two there is another blind panel. Haven’t decided what to put there.

Haven’t really thought too hard about it. I just figured, Behringer & Arturia can give me the meat & potatoes, and any room left over is just the spices or something. I would need some time to compile all the items I mentioned. I might find some extra cash & pick up a Model D/Nuetron, or NO-Coast, to just experiment with some basic oscillators, and later build around that. But I don’t have a plan per se. Just patch & experiment from those synths.

I want to use my small modular for making experimental generative sounds. I find it very relaxing to patch up some atonal chaotic "music".
Just made an example for you. This sound is the synth working on it's own. Terrible I know...

(100% analog. The reverb is a spring reverb.)

Yeah, is that the Doepfer spring reverb by chance? (Doepfer A199 it’s an actual mini bed coil spring housed in a aluminum box with cv connections)

I like how you could send that reverb straight to your SP!
