The thick pad set can be found here http://www.mpcstuff.com/akmpc500mpks.html

I'm not sure if they ship to Europe, but it might be in their FAQ. If not give them a call they are super nice and really knowledgable or maybe an email.

Copped a MPC 500, surpirsed that it doesn't have a slice function like the my old 1000 and 2500. Its more akin to slicing like a sp404.

Still its good fun have a portable beat machine

Yea....no slice......it wouldn't be possible to see the waveform on the screen, it's too small. It chops exactly like the Korg Microsampler (chop by numbers). There's a few little tricks to chop faster, I normally just adjust the start point, then copy it to another pad, then adjust that start point, then copy it to another pad, ect, ect.

I really like it so far, its limited but there's something making beats on the go which makes it so super cool.

I agree, it's limited, but I love the MPC workflow & the fact that I have a mini MPC I can take any where with me is awesome :)

It's not really even that limited when you think about it.
Just a small screen that makes navigating folders not much fun.
Navigating functions however is pretty straight forward, and has more features overall than a 2000, and probably even the xl. (filters/resampling with fx/mute groups).
I sold mine a while back. Will I ever buy another?
For the $$$ they sell for maybe.
