ALLSYNTH#8

Image

Thanks to ALLSYNTH#7 winner drmnaga78 for giving me the oportunity to set the guidelines this round
This battle is designed for ppl without access to outboard gear - source materials are html virtual-synths that can be played on web-browser with computer keyboard.

RULES
-Here is your online polysynth, here is an online monosynth. Use only these, but use them however you like in combination with your SP(s)
-Here are your drums, use only this, but use it however you like in combination with your SP(s), either by programming beats or sampling/processing hits.

-All beats sequenced or otherwise constructed on SP
-beat style anything you like, but:

SPECIAL RULEs optional:
1. In honour of drmnaga78, tempo can be set at 78 bpm
2. Make a track in 7/8 time sig
(Easy to use any combo of one three and two twos... sounds dope if you use a 2 plus 2 plus 3 count, I think; but any combo works, or switch 'em round too...)
3. time limit 2:23

Havn't set a firm deadline on this battle but thought maybe two weekends from posting would be reasonable, so... sometime round 21st May perhaps...?

Nice drmnaga78!

I couldn't get the mono synth to work.....I tried a few times, it was a black screen. I'm on an iPad tho, not sure if that matters.
I'll try again later.

Sharris thanks. I was using the Mono with my PC with the keyboard to control it, there was a bit of a lag between key hits and sound, hence the very simple use of it.

Mines almost done......couldn't follow special rules, I had a hard enuf time as it is :( Listened to drmnaga78s beat again....respect man, really shows what can be done even with cheap (FREE) sounds when you got skills, real creative shit. My beat sounds cheaper than the free Vsts.

Might try 1 more time from scratch.
Can't let this battle get the best of me!

Made a new beat this morning.........I used other drum sounds within that drum vst in my 1st beat, but realized that we prob werent supposed to, so I made a new beat using only the kit that was loaded & the polysynth (didnt wanna use my laptop to use the monosynth).

How I made the beat is in the description but I might be disqualified.......I used some Busta yo's, they were just on the same card & the beat needed SOMETHING. Didn't master it, but ran it thru Analog Heat. Only the kick & snare are quantized....need to go no quantize at all on the next one. Love these battles! I might be addicted

Thanks! I know Busta Yo's are in a lot of beats out there.......but it was on the same card.... & I love me some Busta.....

I kind of thought it was funny....just puttin YO thru-out the beat. Plus I got my girl in the pic with her plate like "YO! (where's my treats) YO!"

Entry:
https://soundcloud.com/deveets/allsynth ... -sp-forums

Constructed beat using the resample method on my sp505. Used like 3 patches from the polysynth and then made a nonsensical beat in the little drum sequencer and looped it the best I could....

time sig is 4/4, sorry I'm not a musician, that 7/8 shit is way too advanced. I saw a guy clap out 7/8 on youtube and it pained my simple brain to even try to comprehend

I got no problem with that, Devee!

I made some early efforts back when this opened, but teacher-workload is insane this time of year with grading and reporting.. we got all of one week left before it's all over, so if no-one is too stressed about deadline I'd appreciate keeping this open a bit longer.. eager to get back to beatmaking!
