Has everyone seen the mass appeal series on youtube where you get a blindfold and grab three records at random to make a beat from?

Some of them are really good and a lot of them are funny. Its great to see how everybody does their own thing...

Which ones are your favorite?

I havent seen them all but so far i like 9th wonder and araabMUZIK... my favorite tho is oh no cuz of how much he smokes and the fact that he used n64 games instead of records

I just seen the latest one lol I watch it all the time.

The 9th Wonder one is one of the best ones

I like the Marco Polo one, Cardiak, Illmind.

Black Milk's one was ok... I just wondered what he would have made if he has a better version of that Herb Alpert album.

Yes! Love this series. Shit is mad inspirational.

I’m disappointed lots of times seeing producers I’ve held in high esteem messin around w huge computer monitors and a midi controller... just doesn’t do anything for me. But it’s cool the way they pull back the curtain and give u a glimpse of their creative processes. Apollo Brown was a let down. Erick Sermon was dope... so was Jake 1. El-P was fly as fuck. Mac Miller too. See lots of cats killin it on their mpc 1000s. Lots of producers I haven’t heard of yet too.

Been watching for years. I think the most fucked up episode was MF DOOM. He did nothing.

Haha! Yeah, that was wrong.

The 45 King was funny. He samples one loop, scratches one record and samples it, wobbles another in the air and samples it, then says, "Can a old man go back to smoking his weed?"

I've seen every episode, have a lot of favs & there were a few that dissapointed, but I guess I cant really judge. Gettin put on the spot, camera in your face, can only make a beat out of random records. Probably nerve wracking to some. Love the show tho.

Another good show is - the crate......check it out if you havent. The producer gets a crate full of objects & has to make a beat out of the sounds the objects make.

Oh shit that sounds really cool im definitely checkin it out... theres one where charlie heat uses some record scratches as part of a beat too... hes definitely my favorite one that just sits there in front of a computer and uses pro tools or whatever... it definitely does seem kinda invasive and a lot of them do comment on the high pressure, but the best ones are the ones that dont try too hard

Yea, I like that 1, there's some good one's.
Illmind does an episode as well, his is a little diff than the others, but I like Illmind.

Rhythm Roulette will probably always be my favorite tho :)
The crate is a close 2nd.

I've been watching the Roulette and enjoyed it a lot. Have to check
The Crate too. Another good one is "Crate Diggers" on Fuse -youtube channel.
It's about all these famous dj's/producers showing their record collections.
Right now I'm watching the Lord Finesse episode - also saw him perform live
just last week :)

Lord Finesse's one was a good one. Of corse, so was Dilla's.
Peanut Butter Wolf, Pete Rock.

But my favourite of all of them was Jazzy Jay.
