Long time SP fam! Glad to see the site still going. I picked up a 505 a couple months ago. Due to some IRL craziness It's been stored until now. So I finally got around to testing it out. While I really dig the workflow, layout and it's unique features there's a big issue. It takes a ridiculously long time to save a sample. Doesn’t matter if you use the internal memory or the card either. A two bar loop takes 15 minutes real time to save, then it displays “memory full!”. The memory full error seems to display every time you sample anything of any length, from any source. Tried initializing it and formatting the card. Nothing helps. I'm no stranger to old gear but this doesn't seem right. Any ideas?

not sure tbh . have you selected to save to Card? .. only thing i can think is.. there might be full banks on the memory slot you're trying to save to.

when you enter Record Mode . there is an indication of remaining record time . if you record in Mono .. you double the amount of time available .. aposed to recording Stereo

OK so after reading your replies I'm going to trouble shoot the hell out of this thing tonight. If not figure out the problem maybe, I can at least get a better idea to explain it in more detail. Thanks for the replies.

So it turns out the 505 is fine. I just needed to RTFM LOL! Turns out I was misinterpreting the remaining sample time, missing a step in the process and running out all the sample time thinking it was saving. I've never been so happy to be an idiot. Been too long since I had a hardware sampler, I'm rusty. Thanks y'all.
