Hey guys!

So I guess youtube's cracking down on websites that allow you to rip mp3s from videos.. {RIP offliberty :( }

So I'm wondering,

What do you guys use to rip audio?

My 404sx haha I've gotten several albums off YouTube recording song by song into my sx, also my old tascam recorder and my mpc. I don't trust most of the websites/programs that rip audio

I always have a mini jack from mynoutput on mac to aux in sp, when i want to record from the computer I just change the settings from soundcard TO headphones out, For this to work You need a usb soudcard really so you can change from one to the other

my sp-606 is my audio interface so that’s how I do it but even if I was using just the computer, Linux is my OS so I can use the Jack-audio Connection Kit to rout audio anyway I need to.

if i'm ripping audio from youtube it's usually for sampling, in which case i go from phone to 404. otherwise offliberty was my go to, but i just tried this site and it worked.

I go from YT into my 404. In my opinion u get better quality if u do it that way instead of downloading a mp3 from some shady ass YT2MP3 site.

You're right, that's the ideal workflow if you're sampling straight into an SP.

Here's the site i'm using nowadays; https://ytmp3.cc

Hey guys, do you think there's a huge difference in quality between the audio output of a laptop and the output of a usb soundcard ? I mean, maybe a soundcard allows more gain, but youtube videos are always shitty compressed anyway, no ?

Another reason why I'm strictly vinyl.

Seems that youtube audio is limited to 192 kbps mp3.
Anyway I use YT mostly. Sometimes I sample shorter parts to Minikaosspad 2S, sometimes I download mp4, then convert to mp3 (little bit complicated, but downloading YT vids via savefrom.net works for years for me).
Now I repaired my tapedeck, so YT to casette, casette to SP...

I remember when I used to go on youtube to look for samples... now when i go on youtube its to see if someone ripped it there... ideally, id want to see a records on discogs that i want... then i go on youtube to see if theres like one song on there to preview it.... chances are if i like the sound of one song, when i go to buy the album at the store, i'll ask for it and listen to the vinyl there and make my decision afterwards. youtube is just for research now. based on the comments, its annoying to route the audio from the internet to your sp anyway. youtube digging is for cats who have virtual samplers... and even then that workflow is uninspiring to say the least.

I use desktop software as I need to garb whole audio from videos at the same time. This YouTube 60fps video downloader can handle this task for the moment.g
