anybody else used a loop pedal to make their beats/ loop

great alternative to resample or sequencer . great fun and immediate gratification if you're triggering sounds of a sampler

Boss have some good loopers . Electro Harmonix also

.

anybody else use loopers?

i use to use the Dakim method (check in the production forums if you have time) it's cool for live on the fly but it's very limited if you like long looping.

i'v also a digitech pedal wich has looping skills inside (but just "one track")

i think boss pedals (rc505 in particular) are good choices and the electroharmonic with 4 tracks too

guys, if you have some other suggestions go ahead, me too i'm looking for that sort of live impro/approach

thnaks

I use Minikaosspad 2S (but using mostly master recorder, not sampler, because of it's 10 seconds limit, so it should be same for Minikaosspad 2). Workflow is not so intuitive and you always have to scroll a lot) - If you record/sample, than you have to scroll outside of record folder, than go back into it and load your last recording. But anyway it's handy and have master Pitch control (+/- 20%). You can also resample - play your recording from the file and play from sampler across it and record as another take I think (but I didn't use it this way yet). But you can't edit recording almost in any way (start-stop points, truncating etc.)

I use a looper, It’s how I over dub with a beat and guitar(or whatever really). I get something going on the 404 then play over it while recording in the pedal. Once I like it I enable auto trigger and record back into the 404. Had a DigiTech JamMan which was really nice but since sold majority of my gear. One of the two pedals I couldn’t let go was the delay lab by Vox, has a simple one track looper with over dubs but works great and the delay if wanted is awesome. I’ve heard the Boss stuff if fantastic, looked on eBay and still up there used.

I tried software looping . depending on your computer power .. a looper could be a nicer option

.

the RC505 is a good tool . I don't find it as fluid as a singular channel loop pedals though.some great FX

currently own a Rowin Looper 3 . no issue with the loop timing . its the closest I've come to capturing exact timing and feel as naturally possible (the looper has actual recently started fucking up . maybe needs software updating)

the results feel like old style 1 take soul records

.

got my eye on Electro Harmonix 360 & 720 pedals. both look promising . memory banks! .. you can store multiple beats

kaossilator 2 is a good little device for laying down 2 bar loops . very limited . but 2 channel (for dips in and out structurally) . has its own semi plastic sound also . partially lofi round off on the high end. distorting kicks can sound phat if done properly . really enjoyed it while I had it

You can't "loop" with your sampler?

absolutely . but there are drawbacks that can be bypassed by external equipment . with a more fluid result

Really, great question that many replied with positive comments.

Loopers loop and samplers sample, we clearly know there’s overlap but every tool has a specialty.

I used my SP555 loop capture function a lot, but for jamming, and just messing around a separate loop pedal is much more convinient.
I bought an RC30... it has two tracks, and much more capture time than the SP itself, and if you find something to use later, you can save the two tracks to one bank, and you can reuse it later or save the wavs to your computer via usb.
Damn, I need more time to mess around with my gear :D
