Right, its awesome and look how its connects and disconnects from the computer. To me, this is a sure sign about the rumors of an SP that will be a hybrid of both software and standalone worlds.

Perhaps with this, Roland is testing the market to see if such a box will survive and be successful.

This is just a crappy monosynth that also does midi control.

I wonder if the new SP will have a touchscreen and a camera and automatic instagram updates

I'm actually starting to wonder if there is even going to BE a new SP at all this year at Namm. If not now, perhaps much later in the year.

Which is fine. I have a trip to Denver, CO I have to start saving up for in April.

I do like Roland's attempt to put out something a smaller company probably would as far as the A-01 is concerned. A light, portable chip tune synth. I still want them to come out with a new SP though. It's kind of hard to tell when they have new toys or when they're still keeping us in suspense as far as new products go.
