So I was messing around using my SP as a controller for the hydrogen drum machine.

usually I only load 16 instruments for the 16 pads since the SP only sends notes 35-50.

but I wound-up changing "Pad Tx Mode = TYPE1" to "Pad Tx Mode = TYPE2" and found that the pads send midi notes 35-98 depending on the pad bank you were in before going EXT mode. basically 4 banks of 16 pads!!

Also the D Beam, CRL1-3 Knobs and MFX1/2 buttons all now send midi instead of SysEx midi.

Didn’t know if you already knew this but it surprised me so I thought I’d share.

Would the HOLD button have any effect on the outgoing MIDI notes ?

Would be nice if that would be the case: making pads toggle-style
(the SP-606 manual calls this 'ALTERNATE')

- haven't tried this

Thanks/bye

it sends out a SysEx Midi message, only other roland gear and softwhere understand it.
