I finally got my 202 . Ended up doing a trade with a friend for a old technic 1200 I wasn't using that needed some fixing up so I got a eps classic maxed out with 4x ram and output expander I saw that he had a sp 202 and sp 808 so I said yo would you throw one of the sp's in to since my technic is worth a bit more than the eps he was like yeah you want the 202 I was like hell yeah . I'm think of just using it using it to sample than dump to my daw and do the cut and paste build a beat thing since the 202 doesn't really have a sequencer. It guys know any work a rounds let me know thank in advance.

You could always bounce to tape...if your going for a really lofi sound.Or just record into your daw and back in to the 202 for a cleaner sound.

You came out good. I miss my 202.
All you need now is a four track cassette.
Just tap the pattern out live. And build the beat over tracks.

Coops,

Think im gonna track down 4 track and do like you said let the loop rock and just play the drum pattern over top .

Some people make a drum pattern first, then find little stabs to fill in after.
Me, I like doing what you said. put together a loop Then add a drum track over it

Your best bet is to record your drum session with the percussion chops onto a daw or other device I use my 303. Then bounce it back to the 202 to have your drum loop going. Then play your melodies over the drum. Its easier to do that then loop melodies while playing the drum.
