Ok,
I am pretty sure i did reboot.

Yes i definitely disabled the secure boot in BIOS.
Do you have to do this also the second time you reboot or does it stay disabled.
I will try again and see if i get the same result.

Thanks

Sorry but I can't help you more...
Just some random thoughts:
1. make sure "Vender Driver" is set to "on" on 606
2. if the message "Windows cannot verify the digital signature" continues then :
"Press 'F8' during restart. Select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement from the boot menu"

3. could you try downloading from :
https://www.dropbox.com/s/goy7ov8uv1czh ... RIVERS.zip
the 64 bit driver? I assume you are on windows 8 64 bit....

Unfortunately I have no other idea to help you.Maybe try on some tech forum to get more help. The driver is working on other 64 bit machines so it maybe something specific to your laptop...

has anyone gotten it to work with XP 64bit? I got it to where my pc sees the sp606 and I can see there are 4 banks and everything is in sp606 format. But when I tried to transfer wav files I get nothing. I will be upgrading the whole pc(windows7 64bit/new cpu/mobo/ram) here in about 4 more weeks but it would be nice to use it until then

maybe explain how you send a wav from the pc to the 606 or vice versa. Maybe I am doing something wrong. I followed the directions in the manual

Hi ZipSnipe,
You have to save files in wav format thru sp606 in 'card utility' menu. (or load a wav file in the same menu). Look at the p.68 of the manual about import/export options :)

Aahhh thank you, so I probably had it working the whole time , just didn't do the wav save in the sp606. Now I gotta hope that I haven't messed anything up since the last time I tried hooking it up.

I've been working on getting my 250 zip drive working so there have been a couple of system restores, will try it later today

Thanx again.

Man I am racking my head against the wall. I have tried 4 different drivers, and everyway that I could think of to get this driver loaded. I have no clue how I got it to work before, I remember running into the same problems that I am running into now but I don't recall what I did to fix it. Or which driver I used to get it working last time.

So any ideas would be helpful.

Here's a breakdown of what I am doing.

XP64bit

I turn on the pc with 606 turned off
I open up xp(not 64bit driver)driver folder double clik installer I follow directions

here is where it goes wrong directions say select Roland sp606 from models, it is not listed, so I try to go ahead anyway select at different times one of the following card reader, pcmcia flash card and then I select the driver and I get not compatible msg.

I also tried the video game, sound controller route that the directions say to use to no avail, I also tried 4 different drivers to no avail.

It does show up in the device manager as the sp606 with the yellow mark, so I now I need to figure out why it doesn't show up in the models in the found new device boxes.

So anyone with any ideas let me know

Simply because the driver I mod is not for xp_64bit. I'll try to make a nasty hack but in the meanwhile take a full backup of your system first.
A nice tool I recently used is Redo Backup and Recovery:
http://redobackup.org/
simple and light.
I'd recommend moving to windows7 or 8.1(with the classic shell GUI) asap ,because it would be hard (IMO is already hard) to find proper drivers for your gear on an over-aged operating system.

Yeah I will be upgrading soon. However I ended up buying another sp808 and I am thinking of selling off the sp606 and I wanted to transfer the samples over to my pc, but maybe I will just record the samples through audio.

I just wish I could remember what I did to get it working.
