Hi,

Was wondering if any of the internal effects could be employed to apply some kind of envelope-controlled amplitude-curve to a sample. Just Attack & Release would already be nice.

Thanks!

There is an Envelope effect, its number 45 and consists of Cut-Off, Release, and Reso. Maybe cut-off works like an attack but I lost my manual at the moment. But combine that effect with Subsonic effect and you should be good to go.

EDIT: Yes, there is Attack and other goodies. Just go to Envelope effect and hold FUNC and press F2 and a sub menu will appear on adjusting the Attack and release.

Thanks for the responses!

I saw the envelope effect but understood it's in fact an envelope controlled filter ('VCF'), not controlling amplitude ('VCA'), right ?

Either way, at least good to see there's additional control for the envelope controlled filter!

Thanks!

Hi,

Remembered this one, thanks again & finally tried it.

The Sub-menu page indeed gives us two additional parameters, but as I understand it it's the Attack for the filter, so not volume. Can be made to do roughly the same effect though (slowly fading in of a sample, by opening the filter), but still a bit amazing that Roland didn't add a volume-swell type of effect to the extensive MFX-range...

(The other parameter on that page is filter-type & -slope)

Bye & have a good weekend
