wondering if it possible to sample via usb without p 606 software ..?

sure you can...in programs like reason,fruityloops you just select SP606 as audiocard....

Smart! But why not just export your work in the DAW to WAV/AIFF file & then USB copy to the SP606? Works okay if you aren't using long samples...

Maybe not, this would be way quicker than USB connecting/disconnecting. Good stuff!

im looking to record a performance on a beat or bassline ect using mfx and d beam mods ect then sample it back to the 606 //its just so i can free up my hands for other stuff when playing live . the reason i want to go usb is i dont like the verry small amount of hiss fron the anlouge inputs //o well ill get there in the end lol.peace/

For maximum usage of the SP-606 (and SP-555) ability to function as an audio interface (or more accurately alternative audio device), you should set the SP-606 as the default Audio Card in Windows.

This works excellently and you get to sample literally EVERYTHING your PC outputs as audio. That means you get to instantly sample from games, movies, Windows sounds, teamspeak when playing multiplayer games and so on. Possibilities are endless here and you don't have to worry about sound quality as it will be more or less just a direct digital signal.
