Pretty much stinks. I switch the input to 'mic', use a good balanced 1/4TRS to XLR cable to a dynamic mic and it's very noisy- not even useable. I'm sure that's why they upgraded with an XLR in on the 555.

I have gotten good results outputting by mic pre directly into the 606 'line' level.
But it would be nice to be able to plug directly in & get a good signal.

Is the mic next to the speaker? Or maybe your headphones are too loud and leaking feedback into the microphone. As mentioned check if your wires are snugged in tight in their sockets. I used mics on the 303, 505, and 606 and I never had that problem.

Nope- I'm a sound guy with all those above issues & basses covered.

Mic direct (with input switched to mic)= not so hot

If I want to have some fun I Just run an out from my mic pre (DBX 386) into the 606 and it sounds great- but..

If I'm processing a vocal with the 606 I usually do it post by running an out from PT through the 606 then back into PT on a new track.
