I just upgraded to 606 from 404.
In the 404 it was easy to load sounds from the CF-card but I cant get this to work with the 606.
How do I get my sounds loaded in the CF-padbanks (9-32)?

I dunno coz I have 505 (but it is basically the same) but the only way is to manually select file and import it. manually every file. i ll try to dig the manual and see if the 505 has this feature then maybe 606 will have it too, but I have not yet seen this option. I too came from 404 and miss this feature because you sometimes need to load whole banks of drum sounds and manually importing them is pain in the arse.

It's pretty simple:

1 - copy files to the card.
2 - press [funtion] + [card utility].
3 - select your sound from the list
4 - import to the pad you want it on.

If you wish to load a drumkit/multisample, just load it onto 1 pad and use the chopper to put it across a whole bank; very quick and easy.

I suspect Roland expect you to do this as the filelist will only display 200 files at a time and you can actually have over 500 samples loaded at once!

By loading in banks you can avoid running out of space in the filelist..

A final consideration - make sure you name your files with 8 character or less - the 606 will cut off extra chars which could cause problems...i.e drumsound1, drumsound2 etc will all be called 'drumsou~'..... get the idea
