When i go to autochop a sample....sometimes it works out and chops it over the 16 pads....but lately it has just been resorting back to 1 pad.....i know there are 10 levels of chopping....i havent tried out every single one but maybe if someone knows what im talking about maybe some help will be much appreciated.

yes I know exactly what you mean. I found the auto chop works best for samples that have some space or air in between sounds. Drum breaks it works fine but for some sounds with long overlapping notes it gets screwed up. I rarley use the auto chop for that reason, it would be nice if you could use the auto chop and then remark your stop and end points but it wont let you. You have to do it manually, it takes more time but you can get it right where you want it to start and stop.

it works exactly like that. when a sample contains some silence the autochop got no trouble; if a sample is continuous or distorted or in feedback etc the autochop tends to work crap. so for a drum loop this is ok but for a continuous distorted synth or guitar it depends on volume and distorsion.
one of the reasons why i sold sp-606 to buy sp-505 wich is better in that sense: you can also chop & assign manually and directly also the samples wich are difficult to chop, when you're still working in the chop section.
