edschoolfield you need to reinstall ( all of it ) . The p-606 software won't work if the 606 drivers isn't installed . And the software also if you 606 isn't correctly connected to the pc . The way that i've found to work for the 606 is everytime i connect to the pc i've have a icon on my taskbar and there is where the trouble starts because the hardware and software are talking to each other . And one of the other is saying Hi i'm here or not saying anything at all . So everytime that i disconnect the 606 from the pc i've have to do it 1st from the pc ( that means using the icon on the taskbar and closing it ) if not the unit will have to be reinstall again and again . When I 1st got my 606 I spent a month trying to figure it out . Good luck and remember the groove that moves U !!!

One of the updates fixes the 'plugging/unplugging' problem.

But, yeah, tuanjamz is right; the sp needs to be connected to the comp for the software to run...

Kinetic (P606's big bro') solves this issue entirely.

I am having the same problem with mine. I reinstalled the software didn't help.
I am thinking it is the way it is connected. So, what is the proper procedure when starting the P606 software and connecting to the SP-606? Should the both machines be powered up first then connected or vice versa?
Also, what should the SP-606 set to when connecting to the P606?
I hope I haven't confused anybody!
Thanks.

Turn on the sp-606

Turn on the Computer

Connect the two with USB

Set the sp-606 to 'external' mode

Load the P606 software.

If everything's installed correctly you're set to go.
