I was curious and tried.

Well I hit Func + Input Source and the 606 screen showed it was reading the iPod.

I would put the volume up on the iPod or the 606 and the L and R bars would move up. Unless im sampling wrong, it wouldnt work. Has anyone tried this?

Also can you sample from your computer?

LilWayne you can sample anything that you can plug into the 606 as long as you can plug it in you can sample it . When you sampling from the ipod you forgot to to turn on the input source pad . It should be lit up and the bars moving and you also have to turn the rec lvl up also .It controlls the lvl of the ipod you don't want to turn the ipod all the way up it will cut off and on so turn it half way then turn the audio in rec lvl knob up untill half way also :) enjoy sampn' ..... and remember the groove that moves U !!!

Spot On.

Make sure the 'Input Source' Pad is lighted!
