Can the sp-606 really time strech ?? What I've seen and heard that's it really can't or can it ???

It can stretch loops better than anything else outside of a computer. Only thing is, if you don't do it correctly, it wont do it at all!!!

Check the thread 'Acidized Loops' for the procedure...

The only thing it cant do is change the tempo of a loop while it is playing: it will play the loop at the new tempo from the beginning of the next bar. For this reason I use the 606 as master so that there are no glitches on stage...

The BPM Sync function is one of the 'black arts' of the 606, and is not covered at all well in the manual! :lol:

Hmm that don't sound right ??? Why would they do that to their own unit and not tell anyone about the BLACK ART of sampling !! OHH I got it now it's a secccert shhhh now before we have to steal the unit for the mpc guy's lol ;) . If you have any BLACK ART MAGIC SAMPLING PLEASE FILL me in . Of the ole acient chinesse secert .. Thanks wise grassshopper !!!

It's just roland being roland; it's all there, just not in one place....

If you wish to use loops with this box (and since it's a loop sampler, I would assume you would), you need to read carefully in the following sections: Editing a Sample; Sample Parameters; Using the BPM Sync Function.

If you peice together the info in those sections of the manual you'll be right mate!

Having a section called 'Using Loops with the SP-606' would have been nice.... :roll:
