The swing on the 606 has adjustable swing settings. It's by percentage only.

Swing on the 606 is great. I find that 60-75 % is the swing range for me. Swing can be applied to each track (there are 4)... so you can swing some things and not others, which is nice.

If you wanna go au-naturale & play your drums/whatever without quantize the 606 goes alright. It'll place your hits down to a 1/96th of a quarter note (pretty sure that's the same as the other SPs & way more fine than some DAWs like Reason).

Another great thing about the 606's swing is it goes from 0% right through to 100% & intervals to swing can be set to 8th & 16th notes. Only one swing setting per pattern but that's no biggie. This thing swings like a pendulum.

Reason's sequencer resolution is variable and goes way beyond 96PPQ

Really? Damn, I'm still on version 5. In that one you can't have notes quantized past 64ths & I always though that turning off the snap only went to 96ths. Doesn't seem to get much finer than that in obsolete versions, but it's not like there's much real-world use for anything finer than 32nds.

Still unshure as to how to use the sp606 swing to get that mpc 60 bonk.
but i'm practicing, I noticed a classic bonk beat sounded weird at first
with no swing, and the roll is useless for stylized drum patterns.
im talking that ba donk a donk. It will come soon, just been playing
to much blues on my guitar, cant really get back into hiphop, oh jees.

I crank the swing to 65% on the hat kick and snare, to get a little
shuffle going, then i play guitar over it for a super swinging rock and
roll vibe. then i delete the drum track and have a super pimpin guitar
track.

trying to get back into hiphop, im trapped in a retro guitar phase, its
trippin the shit out of me, everytime i try putting the bugger down
I learn new scales and progressions.

nail polish is a thinking mans drug.
