I have a 303, had a 505, have a 555, and 808. Anything about this one I should explore first? Whats your favorite part of this machine? Im pumped to start using it.

Thanks!

Read the manual on that one. I tried to delete one sample, and instead, I formatted the whole thing and lost all of the factory samples. I was going through hard times when I pawned it off, so I didn't really scratch the surface of what it was capable of. It's the only SP (that I'm aware of) that lets you use 2 effects at once. That's one feature I miss about it. I also know if you use a usb cable to your pc, automaticly the audio from your computer streams into the 606, so you're ready to sample whatever material you want. (mp3's, games, youtube vids, porn, etc) The synth/filter/theramin are a little one trick pony to me (or 3), but I wouldn't be the first one to feel that about the d-beam.

USB audio's def a favourite. But to be honest the stock samples suck so wiping them's no problem at all. Also I'm pretty sure that the 606 has more pad banks than any other SP... 32 with a memory card! The microscope editor is mad too, been meaning to go deep into it & get super-precise timing on drums. Headphones is right about the D-beam, it's overrated. The filter option's nice but it applies across everything.

How'd you manage to go through so many SPs? To be honest another SP could be overkill, a sampler with totally different sound & workflow may work better with your current gear than the 606 (just a thought, no reason why you couldn't turn them into a world conquering Voltron sampler).

Honestly Im kind of just a hoarder for gear. I use it all, but I have way to many samplers. I mainly use the 303 with my MPC5k. I have a ton of other stuff too. I like to play em and find out the workflow, see if I like it, and if I dont I sell it. But ive found I just have more fun messing with gear.
