I know there are some differences but just curious if people who have owned both devices think it would be redundant to go for the 606 if they are already using the 505.. definitely let me know why you feel either way. thanks

If you're coming off a 505 and going to a 606, let me just tell you to say goodbye to the freedom of editing patterns. Once you made a pattern it stays that way, you can't delete bars or add them like the 505. Also you're limited to 32 bar patterns. And say goodbye to Pitch, its replaced with a dual FX engine of up to 46 effects to choose and tweak samples and Dbeam, which is very cool of air synth play. Everything else is about the same except for editing chops. I only wished BOSS had the 606 before Roland, they would've made it surpass the 505 by a longshot.

sounds like I would want to keep the 505 and try a 606 sometime or buy when I can afford to give it a shot.. I think (or wish) eventually roland will make an sp with multiple outs, similar to 606 with 4 outputs would make it a must have for me at least

The pads on the 606 are better for live playing, and you can use two MFX at once to create ill combos.
The mic pre on the 505 is cool, but you can work around by using an external one for the 606.

personally i think the 505 kills the 606 because of how painfully slow the chop on the 606 is.
