It should have worked for you as I'm doing it right now....

i think the reason ur hearing the synth after you've recorded your sample because u probably still have the effect on... turn it off? also keep in mind that everytime you record a sample, it is automatically in gate so u gotta hold the button down to hear the whole thing

of course !!!!!!!!! the mfx was indeed the the problem.. thanks alot man!! i just got this thing and im lovin it big time . i had no idea it could do this when i bought the thing so it a major added bonus .god i feel a bit thick now . but once again. mega thanks!!! p.s are you on my space ? would love to hear what these things can do ! peace!!!!!

Damn dude, this is great! Thanks for the tip.. I haven't even tapped into the onboard synth for any useful purposes yet.

I have a Fantom X6, but I am a huge fan of all things Roland. I've always thought that the 606 looked like a very under-rated sampler. This makes me really want to get my hands on one. It also makes me wish that the fantom had this feature! Great post. There's nothing like discovering a hidden jewel in something that you thought you already knew well.

My question might be dumb but i guess you can control the synth via midi keyboard right?

Yes. I just did this today. Pretty crazy the 606 is really a module too after all.
I think I could only play one octave, and there was no release, but still experimenting :?

Did you try changing pad banks manually? I've actually forgot if you could use more octaves. I used it only for low bass.

I'm going to F with it again to see just how much control you can obtain using an external keyboard- will report findings upon completion of study :)
