Dunno about the 505 specifically, but most SPs can't..

I just make my patterns by resampling.. means you dont get quantize, but im startin to get used to it

no, you can't
you do something like this on the sp555 (the "loop capture" feature).
or, with the mpc500/1000/2500 etc, the korg es1, the zoom st224...

Aham..yes I know that I can do it with mpc. ( I have the 1K), but that's odd that I cannot do that with the 505 :?
I don't know if I was clear and understand me (probably yes), what I mean, is like I did a drum sequence with bass drum, snare, hi hat,etc..so I start playin' the beat goes from the active pads, and I want that beat merge to 1 pad (like a sample from vinyl). So I can't do that?

thanx for the answers! (this forum helps a lot)

if for "sequence" you mean "resample the patterns which the 505 is sequencing" the answer is unfortunately still no...in other words: you cannot resample what you're sequencing with patterns/songs...

fairly easy to just record 4 bars to a computer, then sample back into the 505 though.

Hello.. Just got my SP-505 yesterday.

Major limitation number 1: No resampling of a playing sequence? This is almost a deal-breaker for me :?
