hi, i'm new to this forum and....ok, little joke!!!

so, what happen to me last night:
i played the dopest sp beast and everything was ok.
after i sampled a little synth riff of 2 measures made by myself and but when is mono mode the results was bad; so i sampled in stereo mode and everything was good. the problem is that when i record a pattern with this sample the sp-505 automatically stretchs it during 4 measures, with a bad results in sound... when i play this sample with the sequencer off, this sample plays at is own original good time....
have you encountered this thingy before?

piss and love...oophs :)
peace and love

i read it, now it's ok.
i changed from "phrase" to "single".
in your opinion it depended from the fact that this was a stereo sample? until now i don't see this "trouble" with mono files.

peace

the same thing will happen to mono samples if they're set to "phrase". Sometimes it actually sounds cool, but usually as a "happy accident" not when you are expecting it to playback the way you sampled it.

how do you use "measure" feature anyway? i've tried it changing bpm of a phrase but nothing seems really change. i mean, i have a sample of 2 measure with 111,4 bpm. i change measure to 1 and automatically i have 55,7 bpm phrase sample. but when i play it in pattern mode, the sample is still stretched. maybe i have to change the bpm with bpm sync or bpm adjust (this one i don't see the utility still).

...5 minutes after...
i've changed bpm with bpm adjust feature. now it's a little better. still the sample sounds stretchy...but bpm is better.

this thing is still doubtful to me.
listen, i play a Pattern with some drums and a 4 seconds Mono sample as Single in "drum" pad play and it stops after 1 second. this means that i reached the polyphony?
anyway, if i try with Phrase i try to change its bpm with Bpm sync and Bpm adjust; what happen is that i can listen the change without playng the pattern, but when i play that the sample is iperstretched to death!...i changed also Measure parameter and this not work...
any help please?

to make things clear: i want that sample plays at its own tempo. like a one-shot sample. what i don't want: automatic synchronisation (and stretching) to the pattern's tempo.

change it from 'phrase' to 'single'. if it shuts off after one beat, yes, you've maxed polyphany.

the way to NOT have samples stretched (doesn't matter if they are mono or stereo) is to NOT have them set as phrase.

if you use a bunch of stereo samples you are going to max the polyphany in NO time. use mono, set them as 'single', & read the manual.

hi
i read it.
but i think that the problem was the polyphony.
anyway i don't get this way of changing the bpm. on the sp-303 is more easy. could you suggest some tricks?
for example: if i have a sample that i want is bmp changing, bpm adjust and sync are the only ways to do it, right? i notice that if you change one (sync or adjust) the other follow.
how to change bpm to make samples go properly? i mean, what to "touch":measure, beat, what?
if you set sample to "single" it goes like a one shot.
but what i don't undestndt is the "phrase" concept, i think...
thanx
