i've found the pattern copy on the 505 the most intuitive on any sampler i've used.

Rob probably speaks french, I think it's pretty common in Canada.

Oui Euclid,le francais est commun,mais surtout au Quebec,but you can find french speaking communities in Ontario,the Maritimes,New Brunswick especially and the Prairies(Alberta,Saskatchewan,Manitoba)

what i'm searching is machine with boss/roland sp-505/606 caracteristics and immediacy and a m**********g pitch in one!
maybe i have to do like you, i have sell everithing and buy a fat mv 8800....f**k, but the hell price?????
mpc 1000 or 2000xl will be ok, but we all know how akai fx sucks....

Yeah, but second hand prices continue to drop for both the Mv8000 and MV8800 as well. :)

I'd go for a second hand 8800 if you're looking for something less limited for sure. A new MPC1000 and for sure a more rare MPC2000xl go for practically the same price as a MV8000 second hand.

Basically the huge amount of midi (and 8 audio) tracks and way more voices, padbanks, way more sample time and so on are the biggest differences. Ah, and of course the onboard bass synth. It does have really powerful and tweakable FX as well of course, but generally you never go wrong with MFX on Roland gear. Can't say that of Akai lately, even though the MPC5000 does have better FX than the average MPC has.

....i heard that mpc 5000 is worst than mpc 4000 and the more and more low prices of it around demonstrate that...

Yeah, but because of the current crisis in the world wide economy the prices of used MVs and even brand new ones will drop as well. You're right though, the MPC5000 made a very bad impression on a lot of people. It had lots of bugs at launch, the buglist shows dozens upon dozens of bugfixes. Apparently the new OS 2.0 solves / fixes a lot, but I sure wouldn't buy an MPC5000 knowing the issues it had for a long time now.

i'm sorry but here (france - and europe also, i think -) an used mpc 1000 black is 550-600€ (711-775usd) and an used mpc 2000xl (with card reader) too. Instead an used mv 8000 is 950-1000€ (1.228-1.293usd)...

Yes, but I am talking about best offers here.

Here's a Dutch site, but look:

€745,- .. pretty sweet deal for an 8000;

http://link.marktplaats.nl/236855317

€1225,- for an 8800;

http://link.marktplaats.nl/234054801

Of course, prices will vary a lot. You need to get lucky too. :)

thanx for those sites, but for now i got an mpc 1000 blck for 550€. i'm waitng for an sp-505 (150€) to make a good couple with...
when i will try to have something more professional (and bigger) i will take an mv 8000. i'm a little afraid from mv 8000 and mpc 4000 big dimensions...i think those machines are more for studios than home.

:wink:
