so.. I have this background ambient "ahhhhhhhh" vocal... but for some reason I can't get it to loop when I'm recording. There is a slight break in it when the pattern starts over.

I've had this problem before, but after rerecording it 100 times it seemed to fix itself.

I have the quantize set correctly. So i know its not that... maybe ill try it without quantize on.

ideas?

well, chances are you have the sample loopd right but its probably at a different tempo so its just not gonna fit at the current setting. Quantize off could work because sometimes if u hit it just a little late/early it will nudge itself in nicely. Also, a trick I use alot of times is this: Play the drum pattern from the sequencer and then hold down mark and trigger the sample. Then hit mark again in time with the beat to create a more consistent loop. It might make the sample shorter and cut off parts you want...but you can just resample those as a second sample and do the same thing to the other part and have gate and loop on both of them and play em back to back.

..hmm.. well i got it to fit right after taking quantize off, I just had to be quick with my fingers to get it to fit.

Not exactly sure what you are talking about with the "mark" thing.. are you sure you are talking about a 505? I'm looking at my 505 right now and I dont see what you are talking about. I'll mess around and try and figure out what you are talking about.

thanks for the info frantic.

so it loops correctly if the quantize is off?

whenever i set a sample to loop mode [on], from the wave edit--
it loops, but theres always a little pause before it retriggers.
this is pissing me OFF.

i think triggering it in the pattern sequencer would negate this gap,
but i know my loops start and end points are edited cleanly-- so why is there any gap at all?

any ideas?
---EDIT---
nvm i have to truncate in the machine, which i was trying to avoid.
the [auto] resampling captures some silence at the end of loops, messing up the end point.

I don't know, I never had a loop issue with the quantize on or off. Best thing to do is count the samples bars and match its BPM with the pattern's.
