 Post subject: chopping samples to pads

what good fellas, has a quick question, just started to work on my SP505 again and was wondering if anyone can run me through the chopping samples to the pads? any help will be apreciated , i cant seem to get it to good .. thanks .. CL

Olby's video is a good starting point.

Personally, I find that if you send the sample through the chop function, it often takes 2/3 goes to get the chop parameter right. I find it works well on samples of 5-10seconds. Others may disagree.

Similarly, if you're looking for the chop function to do something specific, it may be best to manually chop it and if you're looking for it to 'give' you sample edits, it works very well though rarely (if never) will it chop up 16 perfect samples for you to play with.

In fact run a sample through the chop function, lift the 3 or 4 best chops out of it and repeat, discarding the rest along the way.

Works for me.

good looking, i just totaly missed that video by Olby before i ask the question, ill keep it in mind definately thanks for the tips.... real cool vid
