any idea on how to repair a faulty knob? just purchased a second 505 as the first one i ordered had a faulty Cntrl Knob 3, I am now looking to repair that knob.

Whole system works perfectly except the knob. As soon as the knob is touched it jumps to 100% and then after that it doesnt recognise any movement, therefore you cannot control anything with it. Im wondering if it may be a faulty switch or soldering on the board under the knob pot.

Any thoughts on this? Curious to get an outside opinion before i tear the old girl apart and getting into it.

Peace!

I had the same problem. Either the knob itself is broken, or it broke loose from the soldering. You would need to open it up to check.

If it looks like it broke loose from the soldering you just need to solder it again.

If the knobs busted you can buy a replacement knob from Roland/Boss for a few bucks, and it's pretty easy to replace yourself, if you have soldering tools.

Now all I need to do is replace the RCA Out on mine. :x
