Sorry for deleting your post, we get a lot of spam here that needs to be deleted multiple times a day, your post accidentally got deleted when I was replying it.

To answer your question you can not "autochop" a stereo sample, but you can do it manually the old fashioned way, by copying the same sample to multiple pads and adjusting start end point.

I've not tried to pitch a stereo sample, but I wouldn't be surprised if you can't pitch. The sp505 only has 8 poly so I do all my sampling in mono anyway.

Maybe a retarded question but if you sample all sounds in mono. How do you eventually get a 'stereo imaged' tracks with the by example the kicks and bassline placed in the centre (assuming you are two tracking)

On the 505 you can pan mono samples hard left or hard right which gives a stereo image. Maybe too drastic tho.

Thanks for the reply.
But I don't think that's gonna work in my situation since the 505 has 8 polyfony.

I was wondering how people use only mono samples and two track out and still can get it sound like a stereo image (with the drums and bass still in the center)

If you have 8 mono samples, you can leave the bass and drums up the gut and pan the other 6 left or right. When you track out it will be a stereo field. Some have had luck messing with the auto pan effect and resampling. It turns a mono sample into a stereo sample and suck up polyphony tho. Or you can resample a few stereo samps onto one pad.
