Hi,

I have had an sp202 for about 6 months now (Love it!). I just bought an sp505, and I just started to try and sample right off the bat (without reading the manual). I've noticed that is definitely doesn't have the same 'pick up and play' quality that the 202 has. I couldn't even get it to save the samples. Can anyone give me some suggestions so I can figure out how to use the damn thing.

Probably best just reading the manual, when you save samples to the normal banks they will be there after powering off, but if you sample to the card banks to save them stop the pattern playing, press the system button by the screen, and choose card then save patterns and samples, using card banks to sample to let you use much bigger sample times depending on card size

On the 505 you have internal banks and card banks (if you have a card). When you sample pick the bank and pad you want it sampled on. That's it. You don't need to do anything special to save. Internal banks will be there when card is removed. If you want to move samples between card banks and internal banks use the clipboard feature.
