The "patent something in every country" is curious to me. I thought it was a condition of World Trade Organization to respect a set of international patent laws. I know not every country is a part of the WTO, but places like Japan and Switzerland are certainly a member. Pretty much any country with the ability to actually put something like this into production is a member. I'm no expert though, maybe someone watching us at Roland could say. Perhaps it's more likely, if this story is true, that all the other products aren't actual infringements on his patent. I mean, Serato isn't infringing on Numark's patent, right? And if his replicator was able to run without latency, there would have to be some sort of fundamental structural difference and innovation that no one else uses (as was mentioned by Phemox, earlier).

It could be true that his replicator was seen and was the inspiration for the products we have now.

Interesting story, I'm surprised it's never been brought up before.
