False Tropics, I dig that set up man. Its like every shelf is a desk. I once wanted something like that but with an armoire cabinet, slick how you did it in that space 8)

It's my main sampler. I sequence it with the mpc. You know that sampling and chopping is so fast and easy on it. If I get something useable from sampling, and I want to come back to it later, I'll save to the sp or mpc, and continue from that machine in the future, so I never have to mess with floppies. Plus, everything goes through it on its way into the 303 and mpc, so I use the effects often. and using the sp's effects at the same time if I want means I don't have to resample if I want to use two effects. And it sounds amazing, and comes with plenty of good sounds. Totally slept on machine. Even the sequencer is ok once you get the hang of it...

cool use of it. i have to return on it like that, like a module or fx box...i dug very much the asrx fx, also on synths or guitars, very astonishing...plus the internal synths sound very nice...the asrxs got hidden editing and synthesis capabilities because of the very poor screen...those capabilities are heritage from asr10 and the esq synths series...a comparison on this subject could be beteween the yamaha an1x and the yamaha an200, same great hidden capabilities...
anyway, the way you save on sp on mpc is a good idea for me, i will try that, thanx!

just got that 202. after i sold my 505 to finance other gear, i started to miss having a magic box of sounds, so i copped this bad boy to add another flavorful hardware component to my set up, which currently also includes a macbook running ableton live 9, mpk 25, gnx 3 and an old califone tape deck, including various instruments and auxiliary percussion.

i don't have monitors either. I have a good sounding pair of bookshelf speakers, and a pair of jbl "monitors" that are really just bookshelf speakers themselves. they sound great together, and I can switch between the two when mixing for perspective. I built this shelf over the summer to keep all my stuff in one place, as i have a small living room and it's filling up with baby toys. under the mp and sp is a small alto mixer and an art tube interface.

What's this storage space you're using? Are the moving shelves made of drawers without the front panels?

Cheers,
Lukasz

It's all half inch plywood, which I chose because it made the math easier, and it's the cheapest. I measured the widest thing (micro korg) and added two inches on the sides. You can get the slidey shelf brackets at the hardware store. I can't wait till the baby tries to climb it like a ladder...

So I got my first tax return as a working man and went ham. No more sitting on the floor!

Nice setup Pleb.

You don't play the 202 on the lower shelf like that, do you?
You bring it up top when using it?

I can't be hunched over when working on music.
I need to sit comfortable.

I used to have a coffin setup, and be standing while producing.
I guess old age set in and wants me to sit down now.

Is this a Waldorf Microwave in that box? Wow, that's some setup you've got there sitting unused… 8)

Yeah 99% of my studio is in individual cases inside a big plastic box too. Been that way for the last 3 months too.....

I've just got a lonely 404 sitting on my desk making me feel guilty every time I go in the studio.
