Does anyone know if Roland is already working on a new groovebox?
I couldn't find any informations about that...

(I don't wanna make this a "what are you missing" thread... )

Apparently 'not yet', as it's awfully quiet in rumor-land. I did hear that some of these companies are having a somewhat difficult time now, it's financially speaking not the best moment to invest in research for relatively expensive new gear.

I think we might not see a new SP before the end of 2009 as the SP-555 was launched not that long ago and the MC-808 is still very new also.

I hope Roland will prove me wrong and release something cool by Christmass, say a SP-707 with most of the features people wished for in that other thread.

The SP-454...is what they should make.

It should be basically the same layout as the 404, with a couple better algorithms for the fx (Reverb). A Pattern copy. USB OR MIDI OUT!!!!!
And also......Drum Roll Please.......A pitch slider on the side to pitch up or down your samples. And some of the other stuff that was mentioned in the other thread.

Keep it on the battery powered unit and this would be da bomb.

Seems like Roland branched out hella directions. The Drum sampler market could be saturated. Does anyone get the e-newsletter? It's all about The Worship Connection god.

I reckon they should make a nintendo DS sampler.

top cartridge -> program & microSD slot for storage

bottom cartridge -> better audio interface (dont know that it would be fast enough for latency . . . . *possibly*)

When you register with Roland you get the option to receive their e-newsletter. I've noticed that Roland has been doing lots of other stuff lately, like their digital accordion & such. Worship Connection is just that:

I don't smell any SP-666s coming soon, but you never know.
