Yeah, it's equipped for what you're saying but I just want to use it in all the ways I can, like I said just to get the most out of the machine. I appreciate the info, it helps a lot. Thanks everyone.

And I would just use an emulator, but... I dig the real thing LOL :) I've made a lot of music strictly with a computer, it's been time for something different, I like the challenge of learning a piece of hardware and working around the difficulties, even if that involves seeking help, I just like having a conversation with the equipment.

oh and a tip, if you must sample from your computer, download high quality .wav files for your sample material, and buy an audio interface to avoid your computer's shitty sound card affecting the quality.

elaborate?

.wav files are uncompressed and lossless, the most ideal format for hi-fidelity digital audio.... no quality is lost from the source when you format in WAV

not what hawtkarl meant at all, thanks for your input!

all beats are digital, hawtkarl is referring to sampling low quality compressed digital files and making basic beats in a daw

and you obviously don't listen to my music, but i'm sorry if you think it's on that new wave. it's not, and i started making beats before "lo-fi hip hop" was considered a genre. not trying to sound like a hipster, but it's the truth.

hawtkarl is referring to:

chill lofi hip hop relax vibe study beats radio 24/7 [STUDYING ANIME GIRL]

and what he meant by digital lofi is people that use

vinyl_crackle_fx.mp3

in their daw with

chill_piano_loop.mp3

plus

chillaxin_vibin_boombap_drum_loop.mp3

then become famous for making beats that take 25 minutes to produce and all sound the same, like trash

as far as i can tell, you're the only sad one on this forum man.

it's funny how this fool has literally never contributed anything to the forum, yet he feels so entitled

I meant who cares about the quality of your sample source for the most part. Not very punk rock dude.
Just doesn't seem worth getting bent up about.
