Hey all,

I just joined the site, so howdy.

I got an SP-303 a while ago and some memory cards just came in the mail. I've been enjoying learning the machine etc, but would really like to load samples from my computer onto the SP, since I really can't afford to go buy records as often as I look for samples online. I've read online that I need an SmartMedia card reader, but nowhere in town has one, so I need to order one. Does anyone else use one? If so, what kind can you recommend?

Many thanks,
Catapult

They’re fairly cheap on eBay as well.

Alright, I've cancelled my order of the reader in hopes of a simpler solution...

I have an audiobox interface, and I have a couple 1/4" cables. My current setup has been to plug the RCA from my turntable into the sampler and then the sampler to the interface, and the interface to the PC.

So in order to get my PC sound to record onto the sampler, I need to plug a 1/4" to RCA into the sampler from the "phones" jack of the interface, tell ableton to use it as the output device, and record in.

...Right? I'm not really great with the cable stuff yet. :?

Alright, apologies for spamming, :( but to make things more concise my question is: Can I sample from PC through an audio interface or do I somehow need to directly connect the PC to the sampler. If it's the latter, how do I do this?

I read the manual and it appears that I can treat the audiobox as a "CD player" in the context of page 11 of the manual and set it to be the output device in my DAW and record into the sampler this way.
